Ready to dive deeper into the world of pottery? The Pottery Low-Down is a five-week course designed to take you on a creative journey from the basics of handbuilding to more advanced techniques—all in a supportive, hands-on environment. Whether you’re completely new to clay or looking to refine your skills, this small, intimate group (max 4 participants) allows for personalised guidance, plenty of creative space, and time to really explore your practice.

Each week, we’ll uncover new skills and ways to express yourself through clay:

  • Week 1: Studio safety and an introduction to pinch pots

  • Week 2: Experimenting with slab building

  • Week 3: Coiling and sculpting techniques

  • Week 4: Fun decorating methods — sgraffito, slip trailing, and underglaze painting

  • Week 5: Over-glazing and finishing touches

By the end of the course, you’ll have created a collection of unique, one-of-a-kind pieces and gained a deeper understanding of the craft. Your creations will be glazed and ready for pickup in 4–6 weeks—or shipped to you if needed (additional fee applies).

This course is more than skill-building—it’s a chance to slow down, get your hands muddy, connect with fellow makers, and leave with pieces that are truly your own.
