Some mugs hold coffee. Smug Mugs hold opinions.
A handmade ceramic Teacher Edition Smug Mug for the educators who have spent the school year teaching, planning, marking, organising, remembering, mediating, explaining the same thing approximately 900 times and somehow keeping an entire classroom moving forward.
Hand-carved with “To clarify: Teachers are not ‘off for the summer’, they are in recovery!”, this Smug Mug features Whistle & Page’s signature raw clay text panel against a hand-glazed ceramic body. Handmade in Murrumbateman, NSW, it is a small but important correction to the annual “So, enjoying your holidays?” conversation.
Because teachers don't simply finish school and magically become people with boundless energy and a clean mental inbox. They have survived a year of lesson plans, deadlines, behaviour management, endless emails, lost jumpers, mysterious classroom objects, “But why do we have to?” and the eternal teacher classic: “Can I go to the toilet?”
Summer is not time off. It is the period in which the nervous system is gently informed that nobody needs a worksheet by Monday.
For the teacher who has earned every sleep-in, every uninterrupted coffee, every book read for pleasure and every glorious day without hearing their name shouted from across a classroom.
