Handcrafted & One of a Kind
Not all ghosts are spooky. Some rattle chains. Betty Boo rattles hearts. Brought to life in the Whistle & Page studio in Murrumbateman, each Betty Boo Mug is a little work of mischief and magic. She’s the ghost who went against the grain—born not of cobwebs and cold nights, but of straw hats, pumpkin seeds, and the warm, windy Octobers of an Australian spring.
Each mug is hand-sculpted and painted slowly and soulfully, with no moulds, no shortcuts, and plenty of personality. Expect a soft ghostly palette—think misty whites, and straw tones—each one kissed by the kiln’s whimsy. No two ever alike, because ghosts (and clay) don’t do duplicates.
A Slow & Intentional Process
Every Betty Boo is made to order, and here’s what that looks like:
Days 1–2: Sculpted and shaped by hand, one gentle press and pinch at a time. Then she rests, because good ghosts (and potters) need their beauty sleep.
Days 3–14: Air-dried naturally for two weeks in the Murrumbateman air—slow drying means fewer cracks and stronger spirits.
Days 15–17: Bisque fired, where she sheds her fragile form and becomes strong enough for glaze and giggles.
Days 18–20: Each ghost is painted and glazed by hand—no dipping, all intention. Layers of character, one brushstroke at a time.
Days 21–23: Final glaze firing. This is where she earns her ethereal glow. Once cooled, every mug is sanded smooth, given a soapy bath, and prepped for her hauntingly beautiful journey to you.
