Pottery Workshop: Saturday Sip & Sculpt (10.30 am, First Saturday of the Month)

$140.00

Handbuilding Pottery Workshop | First Saturday of the Month (Generally)
Bottomless brews, big laughs, and a little clay under your nails.

Looking for something a little more soulful while you're exploring the Murrumbateman region? Planning a girls’ weekend, a birthday treat, a wholesome date, or a mindful team-building moment with your crew? Welcome to Saturday Sip & Sculpt—a cosy, creative clay session designed to slow you down and lift you up.

Hosted in my warm little studio tucked between rolling hills and golden paddocks, this private 2-hour pottery workshop is for groups of up to six people. It's intimate, relaxed, and just the right amount of muddy.

No experience? No worries. I’ll guide you step-by-step through the magic of handbuilding—pinching, coiling, or slab-building up to five small to medium pieces you’ll actually want to use (or gift). Think: trinket dishes, tea bowls, tiny vases, candle holders—the good stuff.

Prefer to skip the sculpting and dive straight into decorating?
You can absolutely opt to paint and personalise a premade piece—like a plate, a mug, or a bowl—if that’s more your jam. This is your time, your clay day, your way.

With bottomless tea and coffee flowing, and the occasional snacky nibble, we’ll chat, create, and maybe even sneak outside if the weather’s playing nice. It's relaxed, nourishing, and guaranteed to leave you with clay-stained hands and a full heart.

After the session, your pieces will be glazed in a soft white or clear finish and ready for pickup in 4–6 weeks. Not local? I’m happy to post them out to you (shipping fee applies).

Let’s sculpt some joy into your Saturday.
Spaces are limited, and spots fill up fast—so grab your mates and book in early.

Why Pottery? Why Whistle & Page?
I’m so passionate about pottery because it’s more than just creating something beautiful – it’s a way to take a break from the chaos of daily life and focus on something grounding. Working with clay is incredibly therapeutic, tapping into all the creative parts of your brain while engaging the nerve endings in your hands. There’s something about the tactile experience of pottery that can help clear your mind, reduce stress, and bring a sense of calm. Plus, it’s addictive – once you start, you’ll want to keep coming back for more!

Whistle & Page is a place to slow down, indulge in a little creative escape, and experience the peaceful charm of country life. Just 25 minutes from Canberra, in the heart of the cool-climate wine country of Murrumbateman, it’s the perfect spot to treat yourself to something new. Whether you’re a visitor to the area or a local looking to get away from it all, my studio offers a warm, welcoming environment to nurture your creativity.

Let’s Get Started!
I’d love to help you discover the joy of pottery and the relaxation that comes with it. All of these workshops are designed with you in mind—to give you a chance to unwind, meet others, and leave with something beautiful that you’ve made yourself. They are about the experience, the fun, and the satisfaction of creating something by hand.

A Few Practical Details

  • All necessary materials and equipment will be provided for you during each session.

  • Any item that needs to be finished off by me will be glazed in a beautiful white overglaze and fired for you, ready for collection.

  • There will be an additional charge for shipping if you’d like your pottery items mailed.

  • Uncollected pieces must be collected or shipped within 6 weeks of the collection notification. After that, due to space limitations, I will unfortunately have to destroy uncollected pieces.

So, whether you’re coming from Canberra for a quick weekend escape, or you’re already exploring the local wineries, I’d love to welcome you to Whistle & Page. Indulge in some creative “me-time,” create something beautiful, and take home a piece of this tranquil country life with you. I can’t wait to share the magic of pottery with you – see you soon!
