The Rainfall Hug Mug

$62.00
Sold Out

There’s something special about wrapping your hands around a warm mug, and The Rainfall Hug Mug is made for just that moment. With no handle to get in the way, it invites you to cradle it close — feeling the warmth seep through, like a cosy fireside on a crisp autumn morning.

Hand-thrown on the wheel, I carefully trim and shape each Hug Mug to perfection, thinning the rim so every sip is a smooth, pleasurable experience. Glazed in my signature Petrichor glaze, this piece is a blend of mossy greens and tranquil blues, with drips that resemble rain, cascading down the surface. It’s like the soft embrace of nature after the first rainfall, grounding and refreshing.

Perfect for your morning coffee, evening tea, or hot chocolate on the porch, this mug is not just a vessel but a quiet ritual in itself.

Handcrafted & One of a Kind

Each Hug Mug is wheel-thrown, carefully trimmed to give it a perfect shape, and refined by hand to create a comfortable, tactile experience. Finished in my signature Petrichor glaze, no two mugs are ever the same — each carries unique movement and depth.

A Slow & Intentional Process

Each piece goes through a thoughtful process of creation:

  • Day 1: Wheel-throwing the mug, carefully shaping and refining the form

  • Day 2: Allowing the piece to dry slowly, then trimming at the perfect leatherhard stage

  • Day 3–4: Hand glazing with four layers of my signature Petrichor glaze to create depth and movement

  • Day 5–7: Firing the piece, a process that takes three days from start to finish

  • Day 8: Sanding the bottom for a smooth, tactile feel, followed by a warm, soapy bath to gently finish the piece

Acknowledgement of Country

At Whistle & Page, we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands, skies, and waters where we live, work, and create — in particular, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri Peoples of the Yass Valley, NSW. We honour their enduring connection to Country, and pay deep respect to Elders past and present, as well as emerging leaders carrying stories, knowledge, and culture forward. We recognise the unbroken strength, creativity, and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and the continuation of cultural, spiritual, and educational practices that have existed on this land for tens of thousands of years. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
