How to care for your handmade pottery

Handcrafted & One of a Kind

This beautiful bowl is wheel-thrown, with the outer surface left raw to preserve the earthy, tactile nature of the clay. The inner glaze is meticulously applied by hand, blending light oat milk with soft blues, creating a serene effect reminiscent of rain trickling down a window. Each bowl is unique, with subtle variations in texture and colour that capture the organic nature of the handmade process.

A Slow & Intentional Process

Each piece goes through a thoughtful process of creation:

  • Day 1: Shaping and forming the clay on the wheel, carefully honing the bowl’s curves.

  • Day 2: Drying the piece slowly to ensure stability, followed by trimming to perfect the form.

  • Day 3–4: Hand-glazing the interior with four layers of oat milk and soft blue hues, applying each coat with care to build a rich, even finish.

  • Day 5: Firing the piece at a high temperature, over 1200°C, to bring out the full depth of the glaze and enhance the strength of the clay.

  • Day 6: A final gentle sanding of the raw exterior to refine the texture.
