Handcrafted & One of a Kind

Each dish begins as a slab of red clay, where real hydrangea leaves are carefully pressed to capture every intricate detail. The edges are shaped by hand, following the organic contours of the leaf. Once dried, each piece is refined, smoothed, and finished in a soft matte glaze—either in a delicate white or a rich, earthy green—before being fired to perfection.

A Slow & Intentional Process

Each piece goes through a thoughtful process of creation:

  • Day 1-2: Pressing the leaves into clay, shaping, and refining the edges.

  • Day 3-5: Drying slowly to prevent warping, then smoothing and perfecting details.

  • Day 6: Glazing in matte white or mossy green to enhance the leaf’s natural texture.

  • Day 7: Firing to transform clay into a lasting keepsake.

  • Day 8: Sanding and final touches, followed by a warm soapy bath—ready to elevate your space.

Acknowledgement of Country

At Whistle & Page, we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands, skies, and waters where we live, work, and create — in particular, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri Peoples of the Yass Valley, NSW. We honour their enduring connection to Country, and pay deep respect to Elders past and present, as well as emerging leaders carrying stories, knowledge, and culture forward. We recognise the unbroken strength, creativity, and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and the continuation of cultural, spiritual, and educational practices that have existed on this land for tens of thousands of years. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
