The Meadowfold Vase

$58.00

Like the gentle crumples of linen left in morning sunlight or the soft, rolling folds of a golden autumn meadow, The Meadowfold Vase is quietly elegant and effortlessly artistic. Hand-shaped from warm, earthy clay and finished in a soft brown-beige glaze reminiscent of sunlit pastures, each vase carries organic curves that feel both intentional and delightfully imperfect.

Perfect for holding freshly snipped garden blooms, dried stems gathered on a country walk, or simply displayed as a piece of functional art on a shelf or table. Whether given as a gift or placed in your own home, The Meadowfold Vase invites slow moments and gentle beauty.

Handcrafted & One of a Kind

Thrown on the wheel and carefully shaped by hand, each vase is given an organic, softly crimped rim, creating folds and movement unique to every piece. After trimming and refining at just the right stage, I apply the soft pasture-hued glaze — layer by layer — to enhance its texture and depth. No two vases are ever alike, each one an artwork in its own right.

A Slow & Intentional Process

Each piece goes through a thoughtful process of creation:

  • Day 1: Wheel-throwing, shaping, and careful crimping of the rim for organic movement

  • Day 2: Trimming, smoothing, and refining curves for balance and grace

  • Day 3: Hand-glazing in layers to create soft, tonal depth and character

  • Day 4–6: Firing — a slow three-day process at over 1200°C to strengthen and vitrify the clay

  • Day 7: Sanding the base until silky smooth and giving each piece a warm, soapy bath before sending it to its new home

Acknowledgement of Country

At Whistle & Page, we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands, skies, and waters where we live, work, and create — in particular, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri Peoples of the Yass Valley, NSW. We honour their enduring connection to Country, and pay deep respect to Elders past and present, as well as emerging leaders carrying stories, knowledge, and culture forward. We recognise the unbroken strength, creativity, and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and the continuation of cultural, spiritual, and educational practices that have existed on this land for tens of thousands of years. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
