The Little Dipper Bowl

$36.00

There’s something magical about the smallest things — a drizzle of honey, a pinch of sea salt, a scattering of herbs before serving. The Little Dipper Bowl was made for these moments of quiet care. Small enough to sit in the palm of your hand, yet bold in presence, it brings a touch of wonder to your kitchen rituals and table spreads.

Hand-glazed in Midnight Star, its deep inky blue surface is scattered with soft white speckles, like distant stars shimmering across a night sky. Whether you're serving dipping oil, a side of soy sauce, delicate pickles, or resting your favourite tea strainer, this bowl is as versatile as it is poetic.

Handcrafted & One of a Kind

Each bowl is wheel-thrown from rich red clay, then carefully trimmed and refined at the perfect leather-hard stage to create a smooth, pleasing shape. The glaze is hand-brushed in four layers, building up depth and movement reminiscent of stargazing on a crisp, clear night.

A Slow & Intentional Process

Each piece goes through a thoughtful process of creation:

  • Day 1: Wheel-throwing and shaping the form.

  • Day 2: Slow drying and precise trimming for a perfect finish.

  • Day 3: Hand-glazing with care, applying four layers for richness and depth.

  • Day 4–6: Firing to over 1200°C to vitrify the clay and fix the glaze for lasting beauty.

  • Day 7: Sanding and finishing with a warm, soapy bath before it’s ready for your home.

Acknowledgement of Country

At Whistle & Page, we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands, skies, and waters where we live, work, and create — in particular, the Ngunnawal and Ngambri Peoples of the Yass Valley, NSW. We honour their enduring connection to Country, and pay deep respect to Elders past and present, as well as emerging leaders carrying stories, knowledge, and culture forward. We recognise the unbroken strength, creativity, and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, and the continuation of cultural, spiritual, and educational practices that have existed on this land for tens of thousands of years. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.
